Let's Get Ryan that TEFL Certificate

Hello Friends,

Many of you will know about Ryan's journey so far but just as a quick re-cap for those who do not here goes. Ryan fell mysteriously ill and was hospitalised in June 2017. He was diagnosed with acute liver failure of unknown origin. Weeks of inconclusive tests followed whilst his health deteriorated daily. Finally, he underwent lifesaving Liver Transplant surgery in August 2017. After a few set backs  he finally left hospital 3 weeks after his transplant operation and was back in Escanacrabe with his family by early September. Ryan was re-admitted to hospital in early October with a collapsed lung. After operating he was allowed home but was in considerable pain and discomfort for a while but of course happy to be home again.  Phew! What a journey so far. In January 2018 Ryan was fit and well enough to return to his flat and his life in Montpellier. After a few more set backs his life settle into normality, for a while! Back in June this year he suddenly started to feel ill again and after an MRI scan it was confirmed that he had a bile duct blockage and surgery was needed to put in a stent to widen the blockage. Ryan had his surgery in early July but unfortunately there were more complications, scans, blood transfusion but Ryan finally left the hospital in early August. And there we thought that Ryan had made a full recovery. 4 days ago Ryan was re-admitted to hospital with a blocked bowel and suspected complications from his last surgery. He was operated on last week and is now out of intensive care and recuperating.  I think you will all agree that Ryan has been really unlucky! Ryan is now coming to terms with the fact that maybe his chosen career path of  being a waiter is much to strenuous for him right now and maybe he needs to consider something less physically demanding. There is lots of work for English teachers in Montpellier plus he could teach online and this, for now, is the path that Ryan has chosen. This is a really positive step for Ryan and a step in the right direction. We are asking if you could make a contribution, however small, to assist with raising the money to get Ryan his TEFL certificate.  We estimate that the cost of the course is around 1700 euros but extras for travel, books etc on top bring our target to 2000 euros.  Simply put, It would really help both Ryan and the whole family.

We thank you for reading this; any donation at all would be massively appreciated by Ryan and all the McArthurs!
