Lets get George home!

This is George. George lives on Guadalcanal which is one of over 900 islands that make up the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific. George lives in a village about a 4 hour drive (on a good day) from the capital city Honiara. As you can see from the photo George has lost both of his legs through logging incidents over the years. George was once an active and keen worker for a logging company.
For the past 2 years, 73 year old George has lived at the National Referral Hospital in Honiara. He hasn't been in a position to go home, back to his village because he is wheel chair bound and his village cannot currently accommodate his wheelchair.
George sleeps on park benches at the hospital and uses the hospitals showers and toilets (when they work). George wants to go home. That's a fair request. Through the power of social work and community development, we want to get him home.
$2,700 Australian dollars (or about $2,000US or $15,000 Solomon) will get him home. We can build him a shelter underneath his sister's house. We can build him a purpose built shower and toilet to accommodate his wheelchair. It will also afford concrete around his home to allow him to exercise even in the wet season. It will also afford a water tank so he can have a regular supply of water to wash and drink. Most importantly George will be back home amongst his kin folk, his family.
Can you help? If you can spare $10 or whatever amount you can it would be greatly appreciated. As soon as we have the amonut we need, $2,700AU we will start building! You can make George's remaining years a lot happier, being amongst family and friends and the village he loves.
