Join me on an important journey. It will be exciting and transformative. Its time to view American history with bright eyes. Imagine this story from the view of those walking from slavery into the Jim Crow Era. What they thought would be freedom turn out to be terror and lynching.
"Let the Eagle Scream!: The Lynching Tree in America" tells that story. The documentary film begins the dialogue about the 400 years of injustice that Black people have faced under the twin terrors of white supremacy and white privilege.
We focus on the lynchings of the early 1900s, an era forgotten, and link it to the present-day killing of Black American sons and daughters that mimics past injustice.
The senseless killings of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor are the latest heartbreaking reminders of the racial disparities in our society.
I need your help in getting this long history told. The first film of a two-part series is ready for post-production, but I need help raising money. I am reaching out to you, America, to help me get this documentary funded and out into the world to educate and start the healing process.
