Hi, many of you maybe aware that sian yeatman aged 11 has been battling a rare malignant bone cancer called osteosarcoma.
The disease generally occurs in teens and young adults during the growth spurt years, sian was diagnosed in September 2015 after her leg had been hurting during her favourite dance classes.
Sians life has changed dramatically since that diagnosis as she has fought this awful disease.
No child should ever have to face such a battle.
Since being diagnosed sian has had a fighting spirit like I've never seen fighting valiantly to beat osteosarcoma.
The fight began with months of aggressive chemotherapy and surgery to remove sians femur replacing with a titanium implant. Refusing to let the battle get the best of her, sian continued to go to school and socialised with her friends.
Regrettably a new tumour grew around the implant and the decision was taken to amputate the leg, sian delt with this with maturity and courage beyond her tender years. Surprising all the Doctors within days this crazy girl was up!! Nothing was going to stop sian from doing the things she loves from rollerskating, rollercoasting, trampolining, winning medals for her school long jump, sitting her school sats and visiting her new high school, and fitting in being a fabulous bridesmaid.
Unfortunately for sian her treatment has never stopped, she has had to have more aggressive chemotherapy to treat other tumours and inoperable nodules in her lungs. Throughout all this sian has remained upbeat full of smiles and the life and soul of any get together. Sian is an amazing unique 11 yr old she is an adrenalin junkie who has little or no fear! Her friends and family would like to be able to endulge her passions and send her on some more action packed thrill seeking adventures!
Unfortunately sians father passed away through cancer 6 years ago leaving behind sians mum Tracy and her four siblings Aaron, Amelia, Olivia and Llana. We hope to raise money to fund these activities for sian and her siblings to alleviate the financial burden on the family.
