Lily is an 11 year-old Australian Shepherd mix with chronic injury and pain. I first saw her on the Maricopa County Animal Shelter adoption page. Her medical chart was a mess, and as a college student, I tried to justify to myself that it wasn’t a good fit. Over the next few days, I couldn’t stop thinking about Lily. I went to the kennel with the intention of just meeting her. She was skin and bones, wouldn’t lift her head, wouldn’t walk, and wouldn’t look at me. Long story short, she came home with me.

I have been providing her with the best care I can. She will continue to need medical care, including, but not limited to, pain management. I want to show Lily what it is to be comfortable. What it is to be safe. What it is to be loved. I believe she deserves everything that we can give her and more. Please help me help Lily have a beautiful rest of her days.
