Lessen Logan's Cancer Worries

I am writing this story on behalf of my childhood friend's son, Logan.  Logan was your typical 20 year old college student.  He attended ULL and worked a part-time job to pay rent and groceries.  One day while refereeing a paint ball game, he was struck with a ball and noticed a lump on his right clavicle.  He went in for a typical doctor visit whereby the doctors suspected it was allergy issues that caused the swelling.  So after antibiotics, the lump shrunk but was not gone.  A second doctor visit later, medical doctors decided a biopsy would be best near the swollen area and a lymph node was removed.  The results were in, the dreaded call that no mother nor child nor anyone wants to hear...cancer. How could it be? He's completely vibrant and healthy. The shock, the heartache of the word cancer seemed unfathomable.  I remember my dear friend asking "How do I tell my son he has cancer?" Logan has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphona.  His cancer is at Stage 2 E which means that he has four affected lymph nodes and one organ, his lungs, affected with cancer. They are also awaiting bone marrow results which could possibly further the cancer to a Stage 3.  I've  been given updates from Heatha on all of the procedures and additional drugs that are needed outside of the amount that medical will pay.  Yes, they do have health insurance but as with everything medical, there is a limit to what and how much they will pay.  He has to take many vitamins, a special mouth wash to prevent blisters from the chemotherapy, nerve and bone medications and the list continues.  I could not believe the amount of medication this young man will have to receive and the pain that he will go through physically and mentally.  He began a strong chemotherapy this week and he has a few rounds to go.  He has not been able to consistently work with all of the testing that he has gone through and still will.  Heatha, as well, has missed a lot of work to be right by Logan's side.  I am asking for donations to help her and her family to be able to continue to provide all that Logan needs medically to get him on a healthy road to recovery and remission.  The news was and still is hard to bear but hope, faith and strength will get Logan, Heatha and her family through this rough time in their lives. Please help to donate so that we can lesson the financial burden and stress of making payments for each visit, each medication, each test.  You never think it could be you and here I watch and hear their pain.  Psalm 5:  1-4 Give ear to my words, O Lord; understand my sighing. Attend to the sound of my cry, my king and my God! For to you I will pray, Lord; in the morning you will hear my voice; in the morning I will plead before you and wait.
Thank you in advance for any amount you can donate. Please continue your prayers to Logan, Heatha and her family in the name of Jesus and St. Peregrine. Amen
