Leslie's battle against Liposarcoma

Over a month ago, my sister Leslie had a large tumor removed from her abdomen. The tumor was diagnosed as a rare and aggressive form of cancer called Liposarcoma. The surgeons removed most of the tumor, but could not get clear lines to ensure they got it all. Becuase of the location, radiation is not an option and a very strong cocktail of chemotherapy is the only treatment the Doctors have come up with.

Leslie has a wonderful husband (Mark) and three children (Jaylynn, Tommy, and Marlie). She has a beautiful soul and has provided for her family and communtity for her entire life.  Along with taking care of her immediate family, she also takes care of our elderly parents since I live out of state.

Mark is the sole income provider for the household, Tommy and Marlie are entering into their senior year of high school and Jaylynn is away attending college.

Due to the surgery and upcoming cancer treatments, costs will continue to rise. Leslie is required to be hospitalized for 4 days a month for the next 4-6 months along with trips to the University of Michigan for treatments and tests which is over two hours away from home. This will incur costs which will create an incredible burden upon this family.

Today, July 24, 2017 Leslie started her first dose of Chemo. She will be in the hospital until the end of the week. Please keep her in your positive thoughts and prayers.
