My sister,  the most important and influential person in my life,  was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer last week.  Her diagnosis at the very young age of 49 was devastating and very scary,  to say the least.    While we are maintaining a positive outlook and attitude,  the road to recovery is going to be a long and expensive one.   The first step in her recovery is going to be regaining weight that she’s lost due to the cancer. This will help her get stronger for step 2 chemotherapy, which will be putting an enormous strain on her body.   Chemo is used to try to shrink the tumor in her colon and liver.   Once the tumors been reduced,  it’s on to step 3,  surgery to remove any remaining tumors.  It goes without saying,  as strong and independant as Leslie is,  she will have a very difficult time continuing to work during treatments and surgeries. I’ll be helping her with most of her living expenses, but the medical has and will continue to add up. My goal is to help relieve Leslie of some of the financial burdens of this process so she can focus on the physical and mental challenges of getting healthy. As tough as it is for my sister and me to ask for help,  that's exactly what we are doing.   Any help you can send her way,  including  prayers and positive thoughts would be very much appreciated.   There's no telling how high the bills will go,  unfortunately I think the sky's the limit here.  Anything you can do to help alleviate some of the financial burden of reaching our goal of getting Leslie healthly again would be appreciated.
