On Thursday, March 22nd, my sister Leslie was doing what she did best- being a mommy and hanging with her 5 amazing children. She suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed. Her 16 year old son dialed 911. She was rushed to the ER where she was put into a medically induced coma. They found 2 brain aneurisms, 1 had burst. She went into surgery to attempt to repair them. One was semi-repairable, the other one was inaccessible at the time.
Things seemed to be going well following surgery. In the Neuro ICU, she was responding to tests, numbers were all going in the correct direction. Suddenly, Sunday afternoon, her pressures sky rocketed and she has not yet recovered- or woken up. Doctors have told us all to prepare to say goodbye.
Her five babies, ranging in ages from 2-16 are facing life without their beautiful mommy and her husband Mat without his “angel”. Oh how he adores her. Who wouldn’t?! We are all so broken. I am so scared and sad for them...and our entire family....and I know that these impending medical bills will only make things harder to handle.
