Help Nepal Children - Lesley & Sam

Hi friends,

Would you like to help uplift the world's poorest children with me  beginning on Oct 26, 2017?
I have always wanted to go on a humanitarian aid trip and didn't have the money, time or confidence to go... until now.  For years I have donated my talent and made donations in fundraisers for hurricane and disaster relief,  but I have never been on the front line. Well, it's two years after the devestating Nepal earthquake of 2015 and people are STILL without shelter, food, family members and livelihoods.  And we are going!
My husband, friends Elizabeth and Joe, and I are traveling to Nepal and participating in direct aid to villagers!  How you ask?  We are working with Linda Cruse and her Nepal network to bring your help to where it is most needed without middlemen, fees, or operation costs.  We will hand deliver your financial support to be used to "build back better" as our team meets with the most vunerable families, witness their lives and needs, and then get busy implementing economically sustainable projects and livelihoods.

You will feel like you are with us every step we take!
How is that possible? We will photograph and video tape the family and village that your financial support will impact for years to come and send you these updates!  Whether it be the innovation for a new livelihood or restoration of shelter, children going to school, or an animal for food; you can be sure your dollars are being well spent. We have signed on with of  Be The Change, to provide "A hand up not a hand out"; giving back self esteem, dignity and independence through livelihood recovery and income generating projects. And she will report back to all of us in 6 to 12 months so you will know how your family is doing!

We are bringing Peace Ambassador Sammy Snail for psychological recovery as we travel Asia and Nepal.
We will be purchasing wool socks to create puppets that can also keep little feet warm!  Sammysocks! It's a  puppet building/warm sock giving project for children in the orphanages, schools, villages and rehabilitation schools. We will entertain and uplift families with songs and skits. And  when we return we hope you wll join us in person for our debriefing and slide show or by skype. We want you to know that your contribution has made a significant, long term impact on a beautiful Nepalise family.  Who knows, you may want to visit them in the future!

We are so grateful for your prayers, good thoughts and if you are so moved - a fianancial donation.  We will keep you updated via video and photos.  And we will share our written story with you through our fellow Be The Change team member and author Elizabeth Rose.  (Sammy may be writing his own picture book on what it means to be a child who is in service to others. ) Stay tuned!

With great love,
Lesley and Sammy

P.S. Linda Cruse has been working in Nepal for over 18 years.  She has a large Nepali team that works with her to ensure that we can accomplish  purchasing and delivering supplies.  We will work with the Village elders in discerning who are the most vunerable and together with the villagers, a project plan will be created and implemented in one week.  The ongoing oversite of the projects will be continued by Linda and her team.
