Leo's Vision for Job Creation

Donation protected
My name is Leonardo, I was born and raised in Mozambique (Africa).  When I was a baby I was found in a trashcan by a women sweeping the street.  She along with her husband raised me from the time she found me until I was seven years old.  Once I turned seven they broke the news to me that I was an orphan who had been abandoned shortly after birth. The couple who raised me aspired to be rich so they consulted a witch doctor (which is common in Africa) who told them that the reason they were not rich was that they accepted a rejected baby boy, that boy was me. After a five hour consultation with the witch doctor the women who I had previously considered my mom came out of the house in tears. She was confused as to why "bad things" happen when all she was trying to do was help me. They believed what they had been told and sent me away, alone, as a seven-year-old boy. I lived on the streets until I was ten. On the streets, I suffered many horrible things. At the age of ten, I was taken in by a missionary women to live in an orphanage, where I stayed until I turned eighteen. After leaving the orphanage my heart was filled with a passion and vision to one day build an orphanage to serve those who don't have a family or hope.

After leaving the orphanage I got a job in South Africa working at a seafood restaurant.  At the time I was living in a one bedroom house in Mozambique and taking in orphans. After some time I realized that If I continued to take in more orphans I would need a bigger space. I then rented out seven twelve bedroom homes and housed and cared for 225 orphans.

While in South Africa I met a team from YWAM a global Christian organization.  They sent me to Kona, Hawaii to attend missionary classes, that was my first time in America in2012.  I did not stay long because the organization required me to pay for all the classes and at the time I didn't even speak English. So I went back to Africa in September of 2013.

When I came back I, unfortunately, found out that a neighbor had kidnapped twelve of the children living on the property for human trafficking.  We were Immediately shut down after they discovered the heads of the children in the man's possession. Also, the orphans who did grow up did not have any jobs or opportunity because of the bad economy of Mozambique.

In 2014 I received a letter inviting me to come to California for leadership training for 9 months. So I went back to America and have been here ever since.  The people supporting me abandoned me so I became homeless.

In December of 2017, I received a document stating that in order to reopen the orphanage we must first create jobs for the people in Maputo, Mozambique. Since then I've felt God calling me to create jobs for those who are underprivileged. God touched people to help me become legally able to work and take care of myself.  After receiving my American work permit this January 2018 I began to work as an Uber and Lyft driver 12hrs a day to begin to save for my vision.

Please partner with me in reaching my goal to create jobs to save another nation. Mozambique has a lot of economic issues. With your support, whether it be $1 or $1000, you can help create jobs for those without any opportunities.  To create jobs, I am focusing on building water systems in villages, buying vans and buses to create transportation systems and build apartments for people to rent.  All the revenues will go towards paying orphans and people with HIV (who no one wants to hire)  to run and work these businesses in order that they are able to provide for themselves.

My vision is to set up 7 complete water systems in different villages which will cost approximately $13,000 per village. For the transportation system, we will need 4 vans(16 passengers) and 6 buses(29 passengers) which will cost $3000 per van and $8000 per bus.  Lastly, the apartments will be built as the other two job creation businesses begin to grow.  This comes out to $151,000. All the extra money raised will go towards paying the shipping costs to transfer the vans and buses to Mozambique from Japan.

I am just an orphan man who has lived his life trusting In God and Jesus Christ.  Please consider opening your heart to help as much as you can,  your donation will drastically change the lives of many through creating sustainable support with job creation.

Thank you so much for partnering in Gods vision for Maputo, Mozambique.

God bless you.

Much love in Jesus,
Leonardo
