<div>On 20th June, we will be taking on a 38-mile walk from Little Baddow to Great Ormond Street Hospital to raise money and awareness for two incredible charities: Epilepsy Action and Great Ormond Street Hospital.

<div>We are doing this following our son Leo’s journey with epilepsy and a brain tumour.
</div>

</div>
<div>In December 2024, while on a long haul flight, Leo suffered his first tonic-clonic seizure. He was later diagnosed with focal impaired epilepsy and a non-aggressive brain tumour. Leo was experiencing multiple daily focal seizures where he would either “blank out” or have full convulsions. Despite medication, nothing was controlling his condition.

<div>After months of tests and referrals, we were referred to Great Ormond Street Hospital. On the anniversary of his first seizure, 13 December 2025, Leo underwent brain surgery to remove the tumour.

<div>We are now incredibly grateful to say Leo is almost 4 months seizure free. It has been a long journey, but we finally have our happy, energetic little boy back.
</div>

<div>We are so thankful to Epilepsy Action for their guidance and support, and to Great Ormond Street Hospital for their incredible care during Leo’s treatment.
</div>

<div>We also want to raise awareness of epilepsy. Epilepsy affects around one in every 100 people in the UK and 87 people are diagnosed with the condition every day. Each year, Epilepsy Action directly helps around 2 million people. We are hoping to raise funds to support both charities so they can continue helping families like ours and improving treatment and care for children with epilepsy.
