His tiny life lasted just a few short minutes before he went to sleep forever.
Whilst only on the earth for a moment, we know he has touched our lives forever. He will always be our little boy.
After saying goodbye to your child there can be no consolation but you cling to the support of those around you. The midwives at Queen's hospital, Burton gave us time and loving support in this horrendous time. Thanks to their dedicated bereavement suite (the Snowdrop suite) we had the opportunity to spend time with our son and say goodbye as a family. Without this precious time with him to build a lifetime of memories the pain would have drowned us.
We wish to support the amazing team and unit where our little boy was born. We hope that, if the worst thing happens to any other families that they can feel the comfort and support we did.
We wish to raise money to donate to the Burton Snowdrop fund. This self-contained, self-funded unit, allows families extra time with their loved ones before having to begin the painful journey home without them.
Some of the funds will also go to the charity 4louis. They provided us with much treasured memories of our sweet boy for which we will forever be grateful.
Losing our sweet child has been the hardest thing we will ever have to survive. Our lives will never be the same and we are saddened to know we are not alone in this tragedy. We hope, along with our families that we can do something positive, to give others some comfort in their darkest hours.
We will be holding a number of fundraising events along the way too, with all proceeds going to the two charities.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
With love and in memory always,
Leo and his parents Jessica & Jeffrey
