<div>Mein Name ist Jaelen, ich bin 18 Jahre und der Sohn von Leo und mein Name ist Jass und ich bin die verlobte von Leo.

<div>Es ist für uns, und alle seine lieben Menschen ein großer Schock der begleitet durch einen tiefen Schmerz des Verlustes gerade die Welt für uns alle still stehen lässt. Wir, Jaelen und ich sind überwältigt, wie viele Nachrichten der Anteilnahme uns in den letzten Tagen seit dem 14.07.24 erreicht haben. Und möchten uns daher zunächst hier auch noch einmal für die aufrichtige Anteilnahme an seinem Tod und jede einzelne Nachricht, jede einzelne mit uns geteilte Erinnerung an Ihn aus tiefstem Herze bedanken. Es spendet uns gerade so viel Kraft zu wissen, wir sind nicht allein und können diese Trauer mit Euch gemeinsam bewältigen.

<div>Geboren in North Carolina entschloss Leo sich mit 18 Jahren zur Army zu gehen. Er wurde dann im Jahr 1993 mit 22 Jahren in Gießen, Deutschland stationiert. Nach einer schweren und einprägsamen Zeit im Afghanistan Krieg, verschlug es ihn dann nach einigen Zwischenstopps eines Tages nach Hamburg.

<div>Das war die Stadt die Ihn dann die weiteren 28 Jahre nie wieder los lassen sollte. Hier fand er seine neue Heimat und ziemlich schnell lernte er dann auch als Musiker und Basketballtrainer seine neue Herzensfamilie (Euch) kennen. Als Music Artist Phantom Black hat er in den 2000ern, der deutschen Hip Hop Kultur den amerikanischen Flair verliehen und hat mit seinem Wesen, welches einfach dieses “Love is the Key“ versprühte seine Hip Hop Family inspiriert, motiviert und zusammengeführt. Und auch im Basketball galt für Ihn immer der gleiche Leitsatz: “Home is where your heart and passion is. Your friends are the glue that holds everything together“ Hier war sein zu Hause, in der Musik im Studio, im Gym in seiner Liebe zu den Menschen die Ihn über sein halbes Leben umgaben.

<div>Spätestens nach der Geburt, seines Sohnes Jaelen war für Ihn dann alles komplett und eins war für Ihn klar “ hier will ich sein, hier will ich bleiben“ Und das tat er auch bis hin zu seinem letzten Atemzug.

<div>Wir zwei, Jaelen und ich waren seine engste kleine und glückliche Familie hier in Deutschland, für die er über alles stand und die seine Liebe am nächsten spüren konnten, aber kam ein Anruf von Freund*innen wussten wir, er lässt alles stehen und liegen um genauso für sie da zu sein wie für uns. Aus tiefster Liebe und Dankbarkeit, möchten wir Ihm, auch im Sinne aller mit uns trauernden Freund*innen und Bekannt*in einen möglichst würdevollen Abschied bereiten.

<div>It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden and unexpected passing of my father and beloved partner, Leo Gerod Mosley, a.k.a. Phantom Black. My name is Jaelen, I am 18 years old and Leo's son, and I am Jass, Leo's fiancée.

<div>This loss has been a tremendous shock to us and all who knew and loved him, leaving our world standing still in the midst of deep pain and sorrow. Jaelen and I are overwhelmed by the many messages of sympathy we have received since July 14, 2024. We want to take this moment to express our heartfelt thanks for every message, every shared memory, and all the sincere condolences. Knowing that we are not alone and that we can share this grief with you gives us so much strength during this difficult time.

In basketball, he lived by the same motto: "Home is where your heart and passion are. Your friends are the glue that holds everything together." His home was in music, the studio, the gym, and the love he shared with those around him.

<div>With the birth of his son Jaelen, his life felt complete, and he knew he wanted to stay in Hamburg. He remained here until his last breath, living for his close-knit and happy family. Jaelen and I were his closest family here in Germany, feeling his love the most intimately. But whenever a friend called, he would drop everything to be there for them. Out of deep love and gratitude, we want to give him a dignified farewell that honors his memory with all who mourn with us.
