On Wednesday, April 24, the parents (Christina & Bart McClung) of these beautiful babies received heart wrenching, life altering news: their 2 year old baby girl was diagnosed with “ALL Leukemia.” Within 24 hours of the diagnosis  Lennon Faye went through her first major surgery which included a bone marrow aspiration, a spinal tap procedure (to check if the leukemia had entered into her spinal fluid, which the cancer has now, in fact, been found in these regions) and a central line port was placed in her chest. She also received her first dose of chemo at that time. Over the next several days this baby will stay in the care of Cooks Children’s Hospital Oncology to receive daily chemo therapy, as well multiple other tests and procedures to ensure these cells will be removed from her little body. Throughout the next 2.5 years Lennon will receive daily chemo medication at home as well as weekly trips for chemo at Cooks. When the family can successfully claim “remission & maintenance” (praying and believing for January 2020)  the family will then go monthly for chemo visits in addition to the daily chemo administered at home. Although the McClung family is INCREDIBLY confident in the Lord’s faithfulness and ability to heal their baby, the strain of this prognosis is absolutely going to take a toll on them in all areas of life. I’m hoping we as their friends, family, and as believers can help reduce the burden of this shocking news by helping them with the financial aspect of this diagnosis.
