Scratch Rise Up

We are Scratch. Located outside of Lafayette, LA, we have been collaborating together for two years raising hogs, lamb, chicken, various fruits and vegetables, wildcrafting local edibles, fermenting, pickling, getting to know and supporting other regional farmers and growers, sourcing organic ingredients, and customizing menus that agree with and support our customers dietary preferences. We serve breakfast weekly at The Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market and we also cater private events preparing anything from a roasted hog to a fully gluten-free vegan six course dinner. We are women farmer chefs and we are passionate about good food, where it comes from, and how it gets to you. We are in the process of creating a food truck business that operates from the farm to the truck. From the fields to the plate. We love every step of it, and we love the experience of the connection to our community. We are where we are because of our community's love and support along this journey.

With our communities' continuous feedback, we explore and envision how we would like to move forward and expand our business. We have chosen, at this stage, to acquire a food truck because we enjoy the mobility and flexibility it would allow us to have as we work to grow our customer base and make high-quality food available on a more regular basis. We are working towards getting on the road and providing fast farm to table street food with vegan/vegetarian options and locally-sourced pastured meats.

This is the doorway where we are asking for support!

As we embark forward with Scratch, we are strengthening our foundation of what and where we have come from; the farm, the quality of our product, and the community from which these ingredients trade hands, and soil, and, history, and heart. Any financial contributions will go to support new animal housing and fencing, improved field drainage in animals' pastures, and expand fruit and vegetable production. In order to become available on a daily basis serving healthy fast food options street-truck style,
we will also focus on purchasing and repainting the truck with our new logo. We also want to share our product with you and, in exchange for your support, we are offering several levels of valued packages to match your contributions.

$50 contribution- A Scratch T Shirt (after new logo design and printing)

$100 contribution- A Scratch Box- A box of freshly prepared made-from-scratch condiments such as Scratch Mayo, Scratch Mustard, and other seasonal concoctions

$200 contribution- A Seat to Dinner in The Alley – a private event to be held in the spring on our farm. Date TBA

$500 contribution- A Day on the Farm (up to 4 people) learning and participating in various farm activities of your choice. Animal husbandry, animal harvesting and processing (you can learn to butcher chickens!), garden tending/harvesting, farm to table meal preparation, fermenting, pickling, etc. Customize your own experience and camp out for the evening if you choose!

$1000 contribution- Whole Pastured Red Wattle Hog dressed for freezer (when product becomes available)

$2000 contribution- A Scratch- Catered Pig Roast with sides for up to 20 people (or vegan/vegetarian events ) at your residence of choice

And of course, packages can be interchangeable and customized, so don't hesitate to ask for what you want! Thank you for taking the time to read this, and we appreciate all levels of support, even hugs!
