Leiston Community Land Trust (CLT) is a non-profit organisation made up of local people with multiple business, management and architectural skills and backgrounds, brought together by a passionate desire to regenerate Leiston Town Centre.
Leiston CLT was formed in 2019 following a Neighbourhood Plan and a Scoping Report commissioned by the Town Council and its partners. These reports recognised that with an empty commercial property rate of 11% compared to an East Suffolk average of 7%, Leiston requires investment and would benefit significantly from town centre redevelopment.

Before we complete this big project we are focusing on a smaller partnership project that thanks to the support United Church will open the garden on the south side garden into a modern and fresh publicly accessed space.
We aim to remove the wall by the Co-op carpark and landscape the area into an accessible sensory garden, with seating and a performance space. At the same time the United Church will be fitting new doors and access ramps to link the church to the space.
Our fundraising is progressing well, we are grateful to Leiston Town Council and a number of charitable grant schemes for their support.
We need your support to help us make up the last bit. Once we have sufficient funds in place we will engage our contractors, Gladwell's to commence the works.
