Leimert Park Rising

The Juneteenth Community Rally will bring the Black community together and commemorate the holiday Juneteenth -- the anniversary of 6/19/1865 when enslaved Black folx first learned of their freedom, years after the signing of the 13th amendment. This rally will serve as an opportunity to not only celebrate our communities’ accomplishments, it will also serve as a protest against systemic racism alongside the Black Lives Matter movement. With the support of Leimert Park, the Juneteenth Community Rally will unite Leimert Park residents while shining a spotlight on community activists, musicians, artists, and black owned businesses.

These funds are being raised by @sashaseragosa, a Los Angeles resident and native. The funds will be combined with Sasha's personal financial contributions and allocated exclusively to supplies for the event. For full transparency, all receipts for the purchases will be posted  under an Instagram highlight titled "Juneteenth Receipts" until the end of the month. 

Any funds remaining after the event will be donated to an organization that supports #Blacklivesmatter and it's protestors.
