Hello Everyone and thank you for taking the time to visit Leigh and Phil’s fundraising page! We have set up this page in order to assist this deserving couple, who overcame Stage IV Ovarian Cancer, to become parents with the assistance of surrogacy.
As many of you know Leigh is a cancer survivor. She was diagnosed with Stage IV Ovarian Cancer in 2015. And while she miraculously and bravely overcame this disease, doctors were forced to remove one of Leigh’s ovaries as well as her uterus, in order to save her life. This has left Leigh unable to conceive and carry her children on her own.
Undeterred by these hurdles, Leigh and Phil sought the help of assisted reproductive technologies to create their family and successfully created healthy embryos via In Vitro Fertilization. The final step in their journey to building a family is to utilize the help of a surrogate to carry their embryos to life. The costs associated with surrogacy are upwards of $70,000. This is a heavy burden placed on Leigh and Phil who have already faced cancer and IVF costs in the last few years.
