Being the voice of the Paraguayan community, we would like to help Leidy's family in Paraguay.

She was a young woman, full of dreams and goals.

Leidy Vanessa Luna Villalba was a resident of the department of Guaira in Paraguay, a rural and humble part of Paraguay. She finished her bachelor's degree in nursing and was working on her thesis that she was planning to finance with the money she was going to make on her trip to Miami. She was 23 years old.

“She was in the wrong place at the wrong time”

Leidy and her cousin both worked as babysitters for a Paraguayan family that often traveled to Miami. Leidy only worked the weekends and her cousin the weekdays. Her cousin would be the one to travel with the family, but she gave her spot to Leidy for this latest trip so Leidy could make the money she needed to pay for her thesis exam. This was Leidy's first trip outside her country.

Leidy’s family was counting on her for financial support.

All the money that we collect will go straight to her mother via Western Union.

Leidy era una joven llena de sueños y metas, oriunda de Guaira, viene de un sencillo hogar y de una familia muy humilde. Terminó la carrera de licenciatura en enfermería, y se encontraba laborando su tesis, que lo iba a financiar con el fruto de su trabajo aquí en Miami ,pues también ayudaba a su familia financieramente.

Ella y su prima trabajaban en una casa de familia como babysitters, para su prima era común viajar a Miami, pero entre las dos decidieron que Leidy sea la que viniera esta vez y así poder ganar un poco más de dinero y poder pagar su Thesis. Este era el primer viaje de Leidy fuera del país. Ella tenía 23 años.
