Legion was created to show people in our community, young and old, that attaining excellence is achievable if you have the will and desire to do so. Through the medium of sports and martial arts, our aim is to inspire our community to achieve their true potential.
Our journey began in 1997 when Dr. Amir Eslami started to teach Wrestling while he was studying medicine. He found that wrestling was an amazing outlet to balance the stress of studying Medicine at Imperial College. In fact it helped him to excel and increase his performance at University, and he eventually graduated with honours.
In 2011, with no funding except loans from the parents of our Junior Wrestling Academy students, we managed to open Legion as a permanent centre, the first and largest dedicated wrestling centre in the whole of South England.

Since then, Legion has evolved into one of the best wrestling clubs in the UK; our accolades include:
-Bronze & Silver Medalists (Wrestling) in 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.
-Multiple British & English Junior Champions in Wrestling
-Multiple Junior British, European & World Champions in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
From our humble beginnings we established ourselves as one of the leading ‘grappling’ academies in the UK with a renowned international reputation. We have developed an Olympic Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu curriculum that takes an athlete from the age of 5 to develop them into 2 tracks, competition and coaching.
We also have developed in conjunction with Maria Carrera Studios, a female only Kickboxing Academy with four of our students earning their Black Belts under her tutelage to date. In addition, we have a dedicated Strength and Conditioning Programme and a dedicated gym space to complement all the arts being taught within our academies with a range of equipment including kettlebells, power clubs, free weights, resistance bands, power balls, wrestling dummies, tyres and hammers, olympic rings and a range of weight lifting benches.

Our plan is to upgrade our facilities to better cater for our members and community, so we can provide a wider range of services, more classes, and an overall better experience.
With over 600 children currently on our system, together with our coaching programmes, we want to provide facilities that inspires them to achieve not only in sport but academically. We are planning on creating a Youth Outreach programme aimed at bringing young people from disadvantaged circumstances to our facilities for structured programmes designed to increase their confidence, build their self esteem and instill discipline.
We plan to grow our women's only programmes, including a dedicated Jiu Jitsu and Wrestling academy for both Women and Girls - eventually directing our graduates into the coaching programme, thereby creating a self sustaining womens only academy.

Where you our loyal customers and followers can help is by helping us to raise this much needed cash in order to complete this work. We have a four week window in order to raise the cash. We have already secured a contract with London Building Maintenance Ltd to begin the work that needs to be carried out.
