At times I get passionate about philosophies, ideals and concepts, but like many it is a passion that does not create traction till it is made personal. It is why many of us participate in gofundme, projects that tickle our fancy, and interest, but rarely strike a personal string.  In recent years I have seen many people’s views shifting as the world has changed and to many people seemingly taken a bleaker view, but a fundamental future of a community is holding dear to the ideals and beliefs that make it worth sustaining.

"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

These are core principles when it comes with the beliefs that shaped the 4th and 5th amendments. These are often overlooked rights that get lost in the shadows of the first and second amendments, yet are equally important.  Protection from unreasonable searches and seizures, as well as the right to life, liberty and prosperity.   When combined with the first amendment the 4th and 5th make up much of the core of a ideology that has inspire generations to strive for a better tomorrow built on the bedrock of its foundations that were fought and bled for.  A corrupt system will always tell you that it's always reasonable to search, and use intimidation when met with resistance.

In the end this is but passion for a concept, and principle philosophy, it had not become overly personal to myself in recent years until recent events. I am not one to have much shame or feel a need to hide, as such when I am faced with a trial I turn to my community, family, and friends for answers and help. It was no different then when the agents of ACS came to my door. They first showed up on a school night at 1AM without a officer, warrant, or badges. I refused them entry. They came again the next night demanding access to the children without ID. In each case I called the cops on them. The second time they managed to find their ID just before the cops showed up. They have made broad claims that I struggle to understand. They have insinuated that I, a disabled former member of the military, cannot take care of my daughters while their mother is deployed.  They have repeatedly attempted to convince me they are a respite service, and to sign over sweeping access to my families personal history medical and otherwise. When politely refused before legal council has been sought they have responded with threats of court and removal of the girls from my care.

They have made this threat one to many times and have forced my hand to escalate the matter legally.
I have been asked why I do not just capitulate and give them all that they ask for. It would be against my very nature to bend over backwards for tyrants and bullies. I may have once enlisted cause it was a job that would help give my family a future, but I also did it cause I believed in the core beliefs that are the ideology of the rules of law that govern this land. I can not nor will I bend knee to any system that attempts to use its clout and power outside the rule of law to do this to a family.

Because of this I have retained legal council to protect my families rights, and as such it is impeding on our possible prosperity and could become more if this becomes a protracted engagement.  To help mitigate the damage this could do to my childrens future I am starting a gofundme to help alleviate the expenses to a point and the remaining funds will be donated to Maya’s Hope a charity for children in need that my family often donates to every year.

Some of us are fortunate to have means or ability to give hope and chances of liberty and prosperity to others, some of us are able to only help in our small ways, together we create a greater community that builds on a bedrock that has meaning and truth that does not diminish in the face of adversity. What this comes down to is if you have means and feel as outraged as I do donate, if you wish to protect a family donate, if you wish to see aid be given to children truly in need, donate.

The goal is to raise half of the legal fee and donate the rest of the funds to Maya’s hope a charity that provides for disabled children in great need. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and if you are able please give what you can, or do what you can.
