My name is Rev. Dr. Tony Costa and I am a pastor and an academic. I have know Rev. Dr. Aaron Rock for 15+ years. We have ministered together in Canada and overseas. I know Aaron to be a man of high integrity, and a pastor who truly loves the Lord and His people. Aaron is a man of godly conviction who cares not only for the local church, but the whole church of Christ at large. In light of the Covid-19 restrictions, and having complied for many months with the legal regulations, Aaron decided to open his church for the many who were hurting, depressed, anxious, unemployed, and some with suicidal ideations in order to provide a haven of support and ministry outreach.
Recently, Aaron was charged by the Windsor Police for violating the Reopening Ontario Act for holding church services last Sunday. The local Windsor Police have also informed him that his congregation will be barred from entering their church tonight for Christmas Eve. Harvest Bible Church in Windsor, Ontario where Aaron pastors, is calling the charge a “national disgrace” and says that “barring Christian worship and public protests is discriminatory and unfair." The charge against Pastor Aaron is $10,000 to $100,000 and / or imprisonment for 1 year. As this will be going to court, you can imagine the costs involved in retaining legal counsel. I am calling on all my friends in ministry, and all those who love Christ and His Church to help if you can in donating whatever amount to help in Pastor's Aaron legal defense. Every amount we collect will go directly to Pastor Aaron. Pastor Aaron's fight is not just his alone, he is fighting for the right of all churches to open and enjoy the freedoms to do so in accordance with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
