Legal Defense Fund For Small Artisan Business

Donation protected
ZARA/Inditex, a multi-billion-dollar apparel company with over 2,000 retail stores worldwide is taking legal action against Tara Sartoria, a small-scale handcrafted clothing business supporting independent women artisans. Inditex/ZARA is claiming there is a likelihood of confusion between their trademark ZARA and Tara Sartoria.

Tara Sartoria was founded by Thao Nguyen, a Vietnamese-born woman with a long-held dream of creating a business that supports women. By providing flexible work at fair wages, university scholarships, and donating 10% of our profits,Tara Sartoria lends women in disadvantaged communities a helping hand on the path to a brighter future.

It is a frightening experience being legally challenged by a giant corporation like ZARA/Inditex. But we are fighting the opposition because it is an injustice - we do not agree that anyone will confuse us with ZARA. We are also fighting for survival. Thao has put all of her money into growing Tara Sartoria, including marketing, branding, inventory, and packaging. Rebranding would irreparably damage the business as there are no further resources to start all over again.

Being a small business with limited resources, we need your help to be able to afford legal defense.

Your donation will help us pay for legal fees. Any surplus money will go to our registered charity partner PPMK - Empowering Women To Fight Poverty.

We have also created an online petition . Regardless if you are able to assist financially, signing and sharing our petition will help tremendously. Please follow us on Instagram for updates.

Every little bit counts! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
