Hi, I'm Costas Maniatis, a passionate environmental activist, Extinction Rebellion Victoria.

In December of 2023, I was arrested while participating in a peaceful XR action in a week of street rebellion actions.

Sat 9th Dec around 2pm I was picked up and then jumped on by Victorian police port officers public order response team all this will be played out on video to the courts in September ..

Wednesday 26th March Melbourne Magistrate granted me a contested hearing and allowed two days which is enough time to hear from the dark side while the cross examination process takes place stay tuned.

Charged with failing to take direction given by Victoria Police .

Without any warning i was jumped on by several Port Officers and the assault and battery took place live on the streets all this was captured by Melbourne's Channel 7 News that evening ..

Despite this challenging experience, I remain committed to the fight for basic human rights.

However, my current situation has left me unemployed, and I'm in need of support with my legal costs this coming September.

Funds will be used for:- legal fees related to my arrest on December 23
