Legal Aid for Alexis

Last week our dear friend Alexis was unfortunately arrested and jailed on felony drug charges for substances that were in her ride-share unbeknownst to her.  She is in dire need of prompt financial assistance for legal aid as she stands to face more jail time if not represented properly.  Please consider donating and spreading the word.  This could have happened to so many of us. All funds collected go directly to legal aid.

"The night of Thursday, September 13th; I and three other passengers were driving to a music festival called SR in upstate New York. Due to unfortunate circumstances our car was searched 45 mins away from The festival site and we were arrested due to illegal substances found belonging to two of the passengers unbeknownst to my knowledge. We were then processed and held at Orange County Jail where i spent three days because i was unable to contact any family or friends and considering my background as a person of color from a poor, low income family, i was unable to be bailed out unlike the others who were released right away. Fortunately word got around of my arrest and my mother was contacted and came up to get me released; barely scraping up any money she could to pay my bond percentage. I am now awaiting trial on October 4th, 2018 and am unable to afford legal fees. Normally, I’m not the type of person to ask for help like this but at this point i need all the help i can get considering my financial state. Thank you all for your donations." - Alexis
