Lefty McGee needs an AMPUTATION

My name is Charlene Ferry and if you don’t know me I am an animal lover.  I volunteer at Pet Food Express Cat Adoption Center cleaning and caring for the cats. A couple weeks ago my heart went out to a sweet little orange tabby missing half of his hind leg. He was picked up on the streets with his sister and brought to the LB Shelter were they were fixed and came to our center for adoption.  Lefty McGee is only 7 months old and although he has had a rough start in life he purrs the loudest, is so talkative and is the most affectionate little guy I have ever met.

 A couple weeks ago I brought him home to meet my 8 month old kitten and they became fast friends.  A few days ago I noticed he was crying and licking his stump, as time passed his cries became screams and I rushed him to the vet.  Dr. Jacobo examined him and came to the conclusion that he had suffered severe trauma to his leg as a young kitten and an incorrect amputation was performed.  Now that he is getting older scar tissues is forming and restricting the nerves causing him to have these episodes of unbearable pain.  The only way to correct this is to amputate his entire leg.

Lefty’s surgery is scheduled next week and since I have only had him for such a short time and was not prepared for such a large vet bill, I am asking for assistance to help with his amputation.  Any donation would be greatly appreciated and no amount is too small.  A total amputation will guarantee that Lefty McGee will be relieved of his pain and he will adapt easily to a life on 3 legs.
