Lefrak City Jewish Center destroyed from Ida

Hello, my name is Yakov Shimonov and I am organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Lefrak City Jewish Center located at 97-15 Horace Harding Expressway, Suite 2, Corona, NY 11368:

 

Tropical storm Ida caused massive damage to several states in the southern United States, and on Thursday, September 2, 2021, it hit New York. Our synagogue in Lefrak City was also severely damaged by the flooding.

New furniture, ordered in Israel in 2015, is expensive to restore. A large number of religious books, tzitzits, tefillins, wood floors and carpets were also severely damaged and need to be replaced. Mostly all the walls and ceilings have collapsed, the kitchen and storage rooms along with appliances must be replaced.

 

Considering that the parishioners of our synagogue are mostly elderly people who practically do not have the opportunity to contribute and given the current situation in the world we are organizing this fundraiser.

 

In order to begin work on restoration of the synagogue, we ask everyone, who has the opportunity to please contribute what you can. All the funds will go towards construction, carpeting and wood flooring, purchase/replacement and restoration of furniture, purchasing and replacing of reading material, tefillin, tzitzits and other related materials.

Тропический шторм «Ида» нанёс огромный ущерб некоторым штатам на юге США, а в четверг, 2 сентября 2021 года он обрушился на Нью-Йорк.

Серьёзно пострадала в результате затопления и наша синагога в Lefrak City.

Новая мебель, заказанная в Израиле в 2015 году, требует больших затрат на их восстановление. Большое количество религиозных книг, цициты, тфиллины, паркетные полы, ковры и ковровые покрытия пришли в полную негодность.

Развалились все стены, кухня и кладовые подлежат полной замене.

Учитывая, что прихожанами нашей синагоги являются в основном люди преклонного возраста, которые практически не имеют возможности внести свою лепту, и сложившееся положение, в целях ускорения работ по полному восстановлению синагоги, обращаемся ко всем, кто имеет возможность оказать посильную помощь.
