<div>The Leeds Caribbean and African Centre (formerly Leeds West Indian) has been at the heart of Chapeltown since 1983. Born out of a time of long-standing racial tensions, the Centre became a vital hub for the Caribbean community and today, it proudly continues to serve both Caribbean and African communities, alongside the wider public.

Their legacy lives on in a Centre that embodies inclusivity, collaboration, and community engagement. Located in the heart of Chapeltown, we remain a place where people come together, to learn, connect, celebrate culture, and find support.

<div>Our Centre plays an essential role in fostering social interaction, education, cultural enrichment, and unity. It is a safe and welcoming environment where everyone is valued, and where meaningful relationships are built between generations, bringing together respected elders and young people whose voices and experiences shape our future.

<div>Now, we need your support to help us continue this important work. We are raising funds to improve and refresh our much-loved building, through decorating, installing new accessible toilets, upgrading flooring, and making general improvements. These changes will ensure the Centre remains inviting, inclusive, and accessible to all.
