Volunteer Trip to Mexico

¡Hola Amigos!
This January I will be heading down south to Playa del Carmen, Mexico to volunteer with two amazing animal rescue projects. These projects are aimed to help the local dog/cat population. I am extremely excited about this opportunity, as most of you know how passionate I am about helping animals in need.
I will be spending my time volunteering with 'The Snoopi Project' and 'Coco's Animal Welfare.' These projects are entirely funded by donations and help make an incredible difference in the lives of animals in Mexico. 'The Snoopi Project' finds dogs living without a shelter and provides them with a doghouse to protect them from the severe elements. They also offer to spay/neuter through Coco’s Animal Welfare, and try to provide vaccines, food, medications for parasites, collars, leashes, preventative, etc. When we're not out looking for dogs that need some assistance we will be in the shelter helping at their spay/neuter clinics that are offered at free of charge/low cost to pet owners in the area. It's an amazing opportunity for me to put my Veterinary Technician skills to good use!
I am fortunate enough to have this opportunity thanks to my volunteer work with From My Heart Rescue. One of my fosters was a 'Mexi Pup' - rescued from the same area we're travelling to. She was the sweetest girl, from the moment I met her I knew I wanted to travel and help give dogs like her a chance at finding their forever home. The ladies at FMHR has been an incredible support and have helped me make this dream come true!
Because both organizations run from donations alone, I am trying to raise money to purchase medical supplies to bring to Mexico with me such as: gauze, syringes, needles, drugs, etc. Money raised will also go towards doghouses for animals living without shelter. For example, one small to medium sized shelter costs $30 US and for a large shelter it costs $35 US.
