LeeCarol Copeland Friendship Bench

This last week, a wonderful woman left us after a four year battle with metastatic breast cancer. LeeCarol Copeland was a dedicated 30+year employee with the Arlington ISD. She was a Special Needs Nurse and Counselor at many campuses, including the original Veda Knox, Webb, Duff and Williams ES, Gunn and Bailey JHS, Arlington HS and every summer for the Extended Year Program. Her talent and knowledge provided students and staff with exceptional comfort and guidance.
To many of us, she was also a cherished friend, always with a beautiful smile and a hilarious sense of humor. We already miss her exclamations of "Dear Gussie!" and her penchant for purple.
We want to honor LeeCarol with a Friendship Bench to be placed on at least one of her campuses. We have to follow the school district protocol, so the purchase will be made through the district.

We have learned that the estimate for the concrete pad, bench and plaque is $2400, so I have increased our goal. Thank you so much to those of you who have already donated!
