2014 is the year of CHANGE!
I have been blessed to get a new job closer to family. But this new job comes with several challenges.
The most major challenge is the lack of technology available to my students.
My new school has over 92% of it's students in or under the poverty line. This means that it's hard to provide for basic needs let alone technology that will help to make them more marketable for jobs and careers in the future!
The lack of technology also causes another problem for me, as I'm trying to finish my masters progam in Instruction and Technology. The basis of my research is on the impact of technology on learning and testing in the classroom (how using technology can improves test scores and expand the learning process). It is nearly impossible to test the impact of technology on eduction without the technology.
SOLUTION: Chromebooks
In order to get technology to these students for basic skills and to finish my masters a set of 10 Chromebooks is my goal.
Each chrome book costs $160 plus shipping and tax equals out to $200 a chromebook. At ten chromebooks my goal is $2000 Every little bit helps and my students and I greatly appreciate the donations!
