LEAP of Aid for Puerto Rico

LEAP’s Board of Trustees approved a resolution to engage in a Fundraising Campaign for Relief for the devastating effects Hurricane Maria had on the island of Puerto Rico.

Every single one of the 3 million of American citizens on the islands have been affected. Their houses and the overall infrastructure of the island has been severely damaged. 100% of electric and water utility customers are without any of these services. To make matters worse, Puerto Rico has been going through a severe economic crisis for the last 5 years and the destruction caused by the hurricane has experts expecting that the island will be without potable water and electricity for a long time. Some say even years.

It is no secret that Camden community has been highly affected, as some of us still have not been able to talk to our loved ones to find out if they are safe or not.

It is also true that our community has always shown great empathy and compassion and has been on the forefront of helping those who need it most. Now it’s our own brothers and sister in Puerto Rico who need our help.

Our goal is to try to get at least $15,000 until the due date of September 30, 2017.
