Leading In Peru
DEAR FRIENDS AND FAMILY,
I am appealing to you from my heart, as a passionate citizen of the world. I believe that we need to nurture our youth to be free-thinking, earth-based, loving human beings. This is absolutely essential to the healthy future of our world.
For the last 5 years I have served as a mentor and guide to the Teen Journey Society of Vancouver, and as a member of the Board of Directors for the last 2 years. This year, Teen Journey will be taking the youth on a journey to Peru, where they will explore this ancient Incan culture as a gateway to discovering their personal power. This is not a superficial travel experience, it is a Rite of Passage that will challenge them mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. They will also learn important principles of caring for family and community, of learning reciprocity with the earth and respect for themselves.
Because I have spent considerable time cultivating my self both individually and as a community leader, I have been asked to be a lead mentor on this journey. I feel confident that I will be a tremendous asset and source of support to the youth who are responding to this brave call to experience a transformation in themselves. I now appeal to you to support me in raising the funds that will allow me to purchase the ticket ($1300) to Peru and a few ancillary expenses (7.5% fundraising transaction fee) . The rest of the cost will be covered by the Teen Journey Society ($1500).
I have 14 days to raise the funds for this journey to secure the group ticket price. If you feel inspired to contribute please don't postpone long, it is very important to build momentum. Your generosity at this time is deeply appreciated.
