Leading edge trauma therapy for those in need

Donation protected
Although quality trauma therapy does not take away what happened it can reduce charge and overwhelming emotions that get in the way of day to day functioning.  We have the honour of seeing on a regular basis the significant changes that can occur when people are able to get support that targets the underlying issues. These funds will be donated to the Attachment and Trauma Treatment Centre for Healing Niagara and will be allocated specifically to support the delivery of free and low cost trauma therapy for individuals of all ages.

Attachment and Trauma Treatment Centre for Healing (ATTCH) Niagara is a non-profit organization focused on continuing to meet the need for low cost trauma specific therapy. ATTCH Niagara provides support to all ages and around all forms of trauma, mental health, and wellness. We often work with highly complex cases and have been fortunate not to have to turn anyone away due to lack of funds however the need for therapy continues to grow, especially during this time uncertainty which is triggering a lot of underlying trauma for people. We presently are finding that the need for subsidized therapy is greater than the funding available to provide support. As we are a new organization we have not yet received funding from any outside funders / grants yet we receive a high volume of referrals from community partners.

Our Fundraising committee wants to ensure that people have access to leading edge trauma and attachment treatment regardless of their income.  As a result we are seeking to raise funds so that ATTCH Niagara can continue to meet this need.

Trauma drastically impacts our mind, brain, and nervous system and can make it difficult to function on a day to day basis and emotionally regulate. Treatment at ATTCH Niagara focuses on promoting affect regulation, processing of trauma in a safe titrated manner to allow for depotentiation of the charge and aiding with memory consolidation, and reconnecting to or recreating a sense of self as an embodied, empowered, authentic human being.  We find people experience lasting change in a short period of time. In as little as 4 sessions we are seeing a reduction in self-harming, suicide ideation, and addictions and a greater sense of hope.
