Anne's Journey-Miles Before I Sleep

http://www.gofundme.com/ldqnjo Hello:  As embarrassed as I am to do this, I'm sorry too say that I'm at a desperate time in my life.
My name is Anne (aka... Murphey's Law), I'm a 48 yr. old single mom of 2 beautiful boys, ages 8  1/2 and 11 1/2 yrs. old.

There is ALWAYS someone else out there who is worse off than others.  My journey, well it really started many years ago, but i'm not going to go into that right now, as you will either laugh or cry (I do both).

My plea is to get some short term help until I beat my illness and get well enough to go back to work.

My story is:  In the Spring of 2014 (April 1st)... April's Fool's Day (how ironic), I was diagnosed with a brain tumour (Acoustic Neuroma). This, thank goodness is a benign tumour.  The 12 hour surgery was scheduled for June 25th, 2014 in Ottawa.  I am now deaf in my left ear (unfortunately, a hearing aide won't help, as the nerve is severed from the brain).   It has now been about 7 months since my surgery.  My headaches have diminished for the most part, I still struggle with balance and thought processing, fatigue and the crackling of my skull which is still fusing together.  I go for a consultation tomorrow at the hospital's Oncology Centre for radiation, to see if they can shrink the tumour even further (it's the type of tumour which can't be removed fully due to potential paralysis).

My last day of work was June 24/14.  I am still currently off work.   Having this tumour was certainly one thing I never would of thought to have gotten. But, you make the best of things.

I have been on disability since October 2014, I get a monthly sum at the end of each month. However, after paying rent, utilities, food, gas, doctor related appts. not covered by insurance, unexpected car repairs, hair cuts for the kids, etc..  I have very little money left over to cover things until month's end. My boys keep on asking me if we can move to a better neighbourhood, somewhere closer to their friends.  Sigh... this is just doubling my stress.

I have used all my savings, used up all my sick leave from work and any vacation days (from last year and for this year, which I "borrowed" from) for my recovery.

The costs just keep piliing up.  I see a few different doctors.  Two of them will still not sign off on my release to go back to work (they now are saying May 2015) but they'll see closer to my date.  As my debts pile up, so does my anxiety level.

I would be so very grateful and amazed if people would read and/or share my story.  Thank you so much in advance.  Anne.
