LCC Class of 2018 Pinning Ceremony

We are a hardworking group of students that were accepted into Lane Community College's Registered Nursing program because of our compassion and dedication to helping others. This program has given us the foundation of our nursing careers and continues to challenge us in ways we never imagined!
It is a custom that we honor our hard work and dedication with a pinning ceremony and reception. In a tradition that dates back to the 1800s when Florence Nightingale was awarded the Red Cross of St. George, faculty and mentors officially welcome us into the field of nursing. This allows us to celebrate a significant milestone with those who have encouraged and supported us throughout our nursing school journey.
In order for our class to continue this tradition, we need the help of friends and family. While Lane Community College has given us an invaluable learning experience, the school does not fund any part of the pinning ceremony, so this is left up to the students. For the past two years, we have committed our time, energy, and resources to nursing school, which leaves many of us with a tight budget to finance this alone.
The funds we collect will be spent on renting a beautiful venue, purchase of keepsake pins, and fun decorations. There is a possibility of gourmet appetizers or light refreshments. If the previous items are funded, there is a possibility of a photo booth with unlimited photos and prints, as well as a cash bar with beer and wine. We look forward to a beautiful and fun celebration!
These funds will be used and distributed for Lane Community College’s Pinning Ceremony only. Funds are kept in a school-managed account exclusively for nursing pinning.
