If you're here because you saw the post on imgur, there's not much else I can tell you. I'll update this more (there's a lot more pictures) as we go if he gets some donations. If not and you have no idea what is going on, here's the link http://imgur.com/gallery/EYUtN

Here's some links to more posts about Marcus and this campaign.

Or if you don't feel like clicking the link I'll give you the cliffnotes. My good friend's house was burned down. We're certain it was arson. And the worst part is that his four dogs were trapped inside.

Now he's lost his home, which was passed down from his grandmother, his dogs, and his horses. He sold the horses since he can't bear to look at the rubble every day to go care for them. He buried his dogs on the property. I was there.

I can't say exactly at this time how the funds you donate will be used. For one, he's now homeless, so that's probably first priority. Second, the house needs torn down. And a distant third would be rebuilding on the land that his grandmother left him. The amount it would cost to do that seems too astronomical. I didn't know how much to make this campaign for and I didn't want to go too low or too high. I'm taking all suggestions here.

EDIT*** I never expected this kind of response. I thought I was being hopeful when I set the goal at 5k. When I woke up and saw we'd almost reached that, I raised it to 10k. An hour later it was already at 7k, so I raised it again. I was just hoping to help him get back on his feet a little, and now it looks like the horizon is so much brighter. He might actually be able to start rebuilding!

I know right now he doesn't want to think about going back to that property because the memory of pulling his dogs out of the smoldering building is still too fresh and painful, but there's a good chance that feeling will change. Especially if that pain is replaced by hope.
Hope that he can move forward, cuz right now I don't think he's feeling too much of that.
If we could just get him back on his feet, that alone would be amazing.

Thank you for your consideration and humanity.
