Team USA Tri World Championships

Hello Everyone, My name is AJ and I am excited to share that I have qualified to compete in the 2015 ITU Long Course Triathlon World Championships in Motala Sweden. I qualified to compete at the World Championships by placing in the top 20 in my age group at the Grand Rapids Triathlon half Ironman in Ada Michigan. The Grand Rapids Triathlon was my first Half Ironman and my third triathlon. I was completely ecstatic to have even finished that event. It helped me realize the possibilities of hard work and determination. Upon completing the race I felt like I could do anything I wanted as long as I worked hard for it and wanted it bad enough. As if finishing the half ironman wasn’t enough I later found out that I had qualified for the World Championships in Motala Sweden. I cannot describe the excitement and pride that I feel to have the opportunity to represent the United States in the Long Course World Championships. This is an opportunity that is truly once in a lifetime for me and I am going to do everything in my power to proudly represent Team USA.

 

However, being an amateur athlete means that each individual must fund his or her own trip. This is where I need the help of you, my friends, family and loved ones. I estimate this trip will cost around $5000 and that is why I have set my goal as such.

 

The following is a rough estimate of the cost to participate:

Event sign up: $450

Travel Package (Team Hotel and services): $2000

Flight: $1500

Team USA Uniform: $200-300

Bike Disassembly and shipping: $500

 The event takes place June 27th 2015!
