My name is Savannah Louis and I am a 17 year-old from Los Alamitos, CA. It is my dream to become a professional ballerina. In order to reach this goal this year, I have already auditioned for multiple programs and sent my resume/videos all over the world requesting auditions. I plan on doing whatever it takes to make ballet my career. Just recently, I was invited to audition for the Semperoper Ballet in Dresden, Germany. This is one of the largest companies in Germany and I am honored to be invited. This means that I must fly there to audition!! I have also been accepted to compete in the YAGP (Youth America Grand Prix) Finals in NYC in April. At this competion I will be able to be seen by directors of professional ballet companies everywhere. There are many opportunities provided at this competion that are once in a lifetime. It could get my career started. These are my two biggest achievements that I am trying to prepare for at the moment. However, I will also be travelling several places in the United States over the next few months to audition for ballet companies such as Colorado Ballet, Eugene Ballet, Ballet Idaho, and many many more! The money I raise will be put towards my flights and room/board on these trips. Thank you all for your support!
This all started when I was four years old. I began as a competion dancer, competing in multiple genres of dance (tap, jazz, acrobatics, lyrical, and ballet). This continued on at Melodies Dance Theatre in Los Alamitos until I was about ten years old. At that point, I had been training in ballet at Long Beach Ballet for about three years. I realized that this is what I wanted to do and I made a commitment to only ballet from then on.
I have had many accomplishments during my journey. These include scholarships to summer training intensives and acceptances into large competitions such as the USA International Ballet Competion of 2014. At this competion, I was selected as 1 of 99 people to compete. I was there representing the USA, in a competion that occurs only once every four years. I am so thankful for the opportunities that have been given to me and the amazing training I have received in order to help get me to where I am.Thank you all for your support! Every bit helps!
