Lead by Example & Reverse the Trend Inc., is a non for profit Self Improvement Violence Prevention Mentoring Program designed for the youth at risk, based in the neighborhood of The Bronx, N.Y. The program is full of passionate, hardworking mentors who want to make a difference in the lives of the youth, and their community a better safer place to live. A goal that we set out to achieve is to turn a building with adequate amount of space into a Youth Crisis Resource Center for the youth at risk. We are in dire need of your support! With your help we can make this dream a reality and create something sustainable to be proud of.
Hello everyone my name is Antonio Hendrickson, Founder & Executive Director of Lead by Example & Reverse the Trend Inc., (LBE & RTT Inc.). We have brought a Violence Prevention Mentor/Stop bullying program to schools, community centers, & different communities. Currently, my organization is in the process of running a violence program at the Department of Probation South Bronx Neon.
I collaborated and partnered with the police department, various politicians, clergymen & other organizations like Guns Down Life Up (GDLU), S.N.U.G., S.O.S. etc..., whose goals also are to address the violence that involve our youth, prevent bullying and gun violence. LBE & RTT Inc., has held several peace rally's in the communities to empower and motivate the community to stop the gun violence, violence rejection, bullying, child abuse, teaching self respect, discipline, and address elements that plague our communities.
As I continue to build relationships with different agencies, the staff/mentors representing Lead by Example & Reverse the Trend Inc., continues to grow. LBE & RTT's plan is to expand this program in all five boroughs and in the near future in different states. The programs consist of violence intervention & prevention, substance abuse, personal hygiene/aids/std's, image building, gang involvement, peer pressure, accountability/parenting skills, etiquette & manners, job readiness, & self defense/mental conditioning training.
MISSION:
Our mission is to strategically address our community needs by implementing a direct hands on approach to a wide variety of issues. Through education via self-improvement programs, spiritual motivation and the promotion of integrity and accountability, we strive to empower the youth of our community with the desire to live on purpose by equipping them with a positive attitude toward social change for their lives and the lives of others around them. In doing so, events of violence, incarceration and recidivism will go down. Their accountability will LEAD BY EXAMPLE & REVERSE THE TREND!
VISION & VALUES:
Lead by Example believes that in conjunction with our mission, we can achieve our vision which is to provide the youth in the community a youth crisis resource center and a place to feel safe and grow. We see a fruitful outcome with the enhancement of helping the parents supervise their kids in and out of school. At the crisis center we will offer shelter, a 24 hour hotline, a registered nurse, help for the abused, tutoring, mentoring, recreation, outdoor activities, food, showers, safety/escorts home, counseling, court advocacy, job training, summer jobs, chess tournaments, building skills, self-respect, coping mechanisms and a host of other skills that tend to be looked over due to the advent of life. Our vision is to equip our youth with a quality level of skill-sets that will enhance lives. To this end, we work to promote a stop to gun violence, domestic violence, child abuse, gang violence and other negative forces.
Lead by Example & Reverse the Trend Inc., is very dedicated to empowering the youth to live a healthy, productive, successful life style! Through the Youth Crisis Resource Center, we will provide our youth with a safe haven to come to get the help they desperately need from those they can trust. We will build relationships, break barriers, provide support and achieve goals!
