Dreamland 2015 Fundraiser

Dreamland's mission is to provide a cultural alternative for artists and patrons of the Arts in the Greater Buffalo area that nourishes avant-garde philosophies in various artistic mediums. Using models of various cooperatives (co-op housing, “D.I.Y” and punk spaces, art collectives); Dreamland strives to be an inclusive safe space, that is both accessible and comfortable to minorities (sexual, gender-based, racial, physical) and those of disadvantageous economic abilities.
A major example of Dreamland's accessibility lies in its donation-based events. This allows the "turn-no-one-away" policy that we've found creates a strong sense of community and allows people who would normally be daunted by cost--to experience a wide range of the arts.
With the aid of this fundraiser, Dreamland would be able to fund its space—as well as rehab studio space for both burgeoning and seasoned artists that have an interest in creating installations, workshops, projects or utilizing studio space.
**If you're interested in becoming an honorary dreamer, consider small monthly donations, as these give us another dependable form of income to look forward to monthly to put toward our expenses.**
Historically, the Dreamland Collective has paid the building rent for the space themselves (with a bit of help from small donations at artistic events to help aid in the cost of utilities). That's it. We have never been privy to state or federal grants. Meaning, all of the Collective work real-world jobs to help belay the costs of the space--to keep it accessible for everyone. And they don't get paid. Not a cent. All funds go into keeping Dreamland afloat.
Ideally, we would like to cancel out our rental fees to further lessen the stress placed on artists for their craft. Hence, this fundraiser.

In summary---This Fundraiser pays for a year's worth of rent for Dreamland's galleries (the private art studios are a separate rent and entity altogether, and are not involved in the fundraiser in any way), as well as a years worth of utilities, based on most recent monthly estimates. The rest will go towards the purchase of seating, a used PA, toilet paper and the endless Tea/Coffee that we give out at events.
Dreamland Gallery Rent- $13200 ($1100/month)
Utilities (Heat, Electric, Internet, Insurance) ~$8000 ($660/month)
PA/Toilet Paper/Tea- $800
