Layne's 40th Birthday Surprise

Hey friends and family! I know, this is a really big ask for a birthday surprise, but let me explain. Layne keeps a prioritized list of ministry goals and projects, and buried near the bottom of this list is a line item that reads: Record singles/new album. Before leaving our last church assignment to begin our work as missionaries, Layne wrote an entire album's worth of new songs (a folllow up to an album he relased two years earlier) and had already begun the recording process. He was so excited to share new music that he hoped would bring encouragement to those it reached. That project was put on hold when we moved from Tucson to Nashville, and 10 years, several children, and lots of great ministry opportunities later, it is still on his heart to record at least some of those songs. As missionaries, Layne has to spend a good amount of time and energy raising funds for our family and ministries, so he has been hesitant to ask for financial help with this project. I can tell that when it comes to recording he has started to feel discouraged and wonders if he will ever be able to accomplish this goal that is so important to him. 

So I thought that maybe this was the right moment, his 40th birthday - a point in life where so many begin to question if certain dreams are possible. And I thought maybe I could do the asking this time, so that he did not have to ask for himself. I would love nothing more than to be able to present to him on his birthday enough funds to record 2-3 songs, a gift from his friends and family who want to encourage him in his gifting and in his mission to share Christ with all who would hear. It would be such an amazing blessing for a man who genuinely wants nothing more than to be used for God's glory!

Layne's birthday is December 5th. If you are able to help by contributing even a small amount, it will be so deeply appreciated.
