On Tuesday, January 9th, our family was shattered by the unexpected, tragic death of our beautiful, talented, beloved Maire Caitlin (MaryKate) Olsen.
Less than 24 hours after singing "An Irish Blessing" at her grandmother's funeral in New Orleans, MaryKate's life was taken in a horrific car accident near Mobile, Alabama. She was 26 years old.
MaryKate loved to dance, sing, and act — her favorite roles were the Disney Princesses she played for children's parties. She was bright, bubbly, a lover of kids and animals, and a seeker of social justice. She will be missed by so many.
The costs that come from a tragedy like this are more than this grieving family can bear right now, especially on the heels of her grandmother's funeral. We would be so grateful if you'd be willing to help cover these costs for her family.
