Lay Roger to rest

Over 20 years ago my dad was a police officer and a volunteer firefighter. He was injured multiple times while serving in those capacities and eventually had to have 5 back surgeries and a hip replacement, all before he reached 40 years old. Not to mention the fact that he also had to battle kidney cancer and survived, right after my mom had just conquered thyroid cancer. He always had a certain amount of physical limitations, that he did not let slow him down, until about a year and a half ago. He was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease, called FSGS, which meant that his body had started attacking his kidneys. Since October of 2017 he had been bedridden and had multiple hospital stays, one of which put him in the ICU at OSU for two months. He got better for a brief time, until October of 2018. He then quickly deteriorated to the point of him having a tracheostomy, a peg feeding tube, a central line, dialysis three times a week, the loss of a toe and the loss of mobility. Over the span of a year he lost over 200 pounds due to malnutrition. Due to these extensive health problems we were unable to take out a life insurance policy on him. Basically every penny we had went to traveling to see him and making sure that he was taken care of properly. The only income we have been receiving over the past four months is his social security check once a month because the government messed up my moms income when she tried to draw disability from her extensive health issues. We ask at this time that whatever you can contribute you do because we don’t know how else we are going to be able to put our father to rest appropriately. Thank you! God bless! Merry Christmas!
