Dear Family, Friends, Colleagues & The General Public! 

Background

My name is Upile Chikwembani. I am a young, proud and passionate 35-year-old American and Malawian man who is currently based in Chantilly, VA working part-time as a dining room host for a Chick-Fil-A, Inc. franchise.

My diverse experiences and cultural history instilled in me a deep heart for people and a desire to empower marginalized people groups through the creation of wealth opportunities on a communal and global level. My life’s purpose is to directly address the socio-economic imbalances these communities face in our society.

The Mission 

As a young adult, and in order to better realize my life purpose, I entered into the legal profession. I practiced as a lawyer in South Africa for five years before coming to America to pursue a master’s degree in International Legal Studies at American University, Washington College of Law. With this advanced degree, I am positioned with the requisite knowledge and expertise to effect the positive change I desire to see. I am as close as ever before to achieving my goal and walking fully into my purpose. 

However, I need your help. In order to practice law in the United States and internationally, I must pass the New York State Bar Exam ("The Exam"). The  Exam is particularly unique due to its international prestige and recognition as one of the most comprehensive exams in the world. The huge financial undertaking of the Exam, is one that exceeds my financial capacity. My financial capacity is sufficient to cover my necessary living expenses such as rental, utilities and food. Your contribution will go a long way in helping cover the Exam costs and empower me to pursue and realize my lifelong dream.

How Can You Help?

I plan to sit for the Exam in July 2021, but I need to raise funds and support in order to  register and formally take it. Your contribution and investment to my cause, in any amount, will go a long way to open the door to position me to sit for the exam, pass it and ultimately realize my lifelong dream to empower impoverished people groups around the world. My goal is to raise $6000. With your financial help, I will be able to:

(1) Enroll for a Bar Exam Prep Course

(2) Defray the administrative costs for the Exam

(3) Cover any incidental costs, travel and lodging to and from New York City 

My interim goal of priority is to raise $2795, which will allow me register for the Bar Review Prep Course I have identified and chosen, so I can access the necessary materials to prepare and study for the exam.
