Lawyer Fees for Civil Case

A former professor is attempting to sue me and my sister for slander and defamation following a Title IX investigation that ended in their resignation. The university found that the "preponderance of evidence shows that [they] engaged in a persistent pattern of inappropriate and sexually harassing and/ or manipulative and predatory behavior."

We now need to hire a lawyer to follow through with the civil case. We cannot afford the expenses of hiring a lawyer for something as lengthy and complex as this may be. 

We believe that this fundraiser will help us hire a lawyer and allow justice to prevail in this case. We estimate that we will have to spend at least $2000-5000, in addition to what we have already spent.

We have both been through several traumatic experiences related to this person and others - and this is just the icing on the cake for the garbage year we call 2020. Please help us - any donation, share, message of encouragement, or form of support would mean the world to us.
