Fire & Surgery Relief for Lauren

Our friend Lauren needs our support now! Lauren came into our lives when my husband and I opened a coffee bar/motorcycle garage in downtown Olympia.   We needed an experienced barista, someone whose personality, creativity, passion, and music taste would pair perfectly with ours - Lauren came highly recommended by several community members! The second she walked through our doors, we knew she was THE ONE, and Lauren quickly became integral to our misfit family!

Lauren is a 37-year-old single mother of 2 young daughters, Ruby, 8, and Vera, 3. She works as a longtime barista and a salon coordinator, both at local downtown Olympia small businesses, while still working on her dream of becoming a stylist in the hair and beauty industry. She was first diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2016 and has since had two surgeries and several procedures. After struggling with a five-year battle, it has finally come down to a hysterectomy being the necessary treatment and hopefully the final chapter to this fight. The recovery is lengthy, and she must stay off her feet for 8-10 weeks while her body heals. After which, she is to be on light duty for a few more weeks, as both of her jobs are very active. During this time, she will be unable to provide and care for her household financially. We ask that you help Lauren and her two girls make it through this challenging time without the burden of financial stress.

Lauren is one badass, strong and independent woman, but even the strongest of us need a helping hand.  Lauren holds down two jobs, raises two daughters, and keeps up on household responsibilities independently, so let's pull together and get her through some challenging roads ahead. With your support, Lauren will focus on recovering and not worrying about making ends for her and her daughters.
