<div>I have papillary carcinoma, which is the most common thyroid cancer. <strong>However, mine is more aggressive than normal.</strong> Originally, we thought it was contained, and only moderately concerning, due to the size and shape of the tumor. We later found out I have vocal cord paralysis on the right side which means that there is some sort of nerve involvement, and there is potential the vocal cord nerve will be lost if the cancer has invaded it, We won’t know for certain until surgery is over. At the very least, I will have the right lobe of my thyroid removed, possibly my parathyroid glands, left lobe, right laryngeal nerve, and lymph nodes. However, there are many questions still to be answered, with surgery scheduled for Friday, <strong>December 17, 2021</strong>.
