Laura's Dental Procedures

My wife Laura needs to have all of her teeth removed, and replaced with dentures. Her damaged enamel and some cracked fillings have led to multiple issues, including spreading infections and the serious risk of sepsis. These issues have progressed unchecked for too long because of our inability to pay for treatment. The damage is so complete that it's much safer for her to simply remove them all and replace them with dentures.

While we have not had the funds to get these procedures done, it has been "urgent" for several years now (so says every dentist and ER doctor we have seen in the last several years). She has had a few teeth already pulled, but those that remain continue to cause infections and nearly constant pain, and we cannot just pull one at a time without her jaw deteriorating. She needs them all out at once and dentures in asap.

She's in so much pain so often that I worry about the damage to her organs from having to take over-the-counter painkillers for so long, and over-the-counter dosages cannot effectively combat the level of pain she is in, much of the time. Her dental pain often makes it impossible for her to eat anything that isn't already soft enough to swallow without chewing.

She is the sole primary care taker for our two adorable children, but the cost of caring for two special needs kids makes trying to save up for this dental work basically impossible.

The work that she needs done cannot be performed by a regular dentist. The damage is severe, and requires the attention of a maxillofacial surgen. The cost of the procedures, along with the cost of the dentures, far exceeds the meager amount the dental insurance will cover. For the last 4 or 5 years, we have tried to save up, but the rate at which the damage continues to worsen is causing the costs to rise way faster than our ability to save.

I really didn't want to have to ask and share our suffering publicly, but she needs this so badly that I am setting aside any social or emotional issues and asking for help. The funds are specifically being raised for the removal procedures, the anesthesia, and the replacement dentures. Any donation amount would be greatly appreciated. And of course, lots of thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes are much needed.
